About Remove duplicate lines conversion
Email lists merged from several sources, keyword research exports, inventory SKUs, guest lists, and log extracts all accumulate repeated entries. Removing duplicate lines by hand is slow and unreliable once a list passes a few dozen items. Paste the list here and one click keeps only the first occurrence of every line, preserving the original order of what remains.
Matching is exact. "Apple" and "apple" count as different lines, and so do lines that differ only by a trailing space. For the best results, run Trim lines first to strip leading and trailing whitespace, and lowercase the list if capitalization should not matter. Single spaces collapses runs of spaces and tabs and squeezes big gaps of blank lines down to one empty line.
Two more list tools sit alongside. Sort lines A–Z orders entries alphabetically using your browser's language-aware comparison, so accented letters sort sensibly. Reverse lines flips the order, handy for turning newest-first logs into chronological order. The counters show how many lines you started and finished with, a quick check of how many duplicates were removed.
How to do it
- Click the button above; the list tools are highlighted in the Text tool.
- Paste your list with one item per line and note the line count.
- Press Trim lines so stray spaces do not hide duplicates.
- Press Remove duplicate lines, then optionally Sort lines A–Z.
- Compare the new line count, then copy or download the cleaned list.
