About WebP to PNG conversion
Designers frequently run into WebP when collecting logos, icons, or cut-out product images from the web, and then discover their editing app or slide software will not import it. PNG is the natural destination: it is accepted by virtually every graphics program and, crucially, it preserves transparency, so a logo on a see-through background stays that way.
This conversion is lossless from the moment the WebP is decoded. Whatever detail is in the WebP is captured pixel for pixel in the PNG, which makes the PNG a solid master copy for further editing, annotation, or printing. The trade-off is size: PNG files are usually larger than their WebP sources, sometimes by a lot for photographic content, so this is best for graphics rather than for shrinking photos.
Because PNG does not use a quality setting, you can ignore the slider. You can still downscale with the max width and height boxes if you only need a smaller version, for example a 512-pixel app icon. Animated WebP files are converted as a single still frame.
