About Time converter conversion
Durations are surprisingly easy to fumble: how many minutes is 2.75 hours, how many seconds are in a week, or how many days is 1,000 hours? The time converter switches between milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours, days, and weeks using fixed factors — 60 seconds per minute, 3,600 per hour, 86,400 per day, and 604,800 per week.
Developers use it to sanity-check timeout and cache values written in milliseconds or seconds. Freelancers convert decimal hours on timesheets to minutes for invoices. Project planners turn estimates in hours into days and weeks, and students check homework answers. Results appear as decimals, so 90 minutes reads as 1.5 hours rather than 1 h 30 min.
This converts lengths of time, not clock times or calendar dates: it does not handle time zones, daylight saving shifts, or month and year lengths, which vary. A day here is always exactly 24 hours, which is right for durations but not for counting across a daylight-saving changeover.
A few reference points are worth memorizing: 1,440 minutes in a day, 10,080 minutes in a week, and 8,760 hours in a 365-day year (which you can reach by converting days to hours). Typing 525,600 minutes and converting to weeks gives roughly 52.14, a quick reminder of why a year never splits evenly into weeks.
