How to do it
- Open the barcode generator with ITF (shipping) selected.
- Enter digits only. ITF encodes digits in pairs, so the count must be even — add a leading zero if needed.
- Make the bars taller and wider for cardboard, where ink spreads.
- Choose whether to show the digits under the bars.
- Download SVG for your label template or PNG for quick printing.
- Scan a printed test before labelling a whole shipment.
Good to know
- Interleaved 2 of 5 pairs digits: the first digit of each pair is encoded in the bars, the second in the spaces. That is why it needs an even number of digits.
- This generator encodes your digits exactly as entered and does not calculate a check digit. If you are making a GTIN-14 carton code, enter all 14 digits including the check digit from your GS1 number.
- Bearer bars (the frame some ITF-14 labels print around the code) are not added.

Why must ITF have an even number of digits?
ITF encodes digits in interleaved pairs. Add a leading zero to an odd-length number.
