How to do it
- Open the QR scanner.
- Click Use camera and allow camera access when your browser asks. On phones the rear camera is requested.
- Hold the QR code inside the frame. When it is read, the camera stops and the decoded content appears.
- No camera, or the code is in a screenshot? Drop a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image onto the box, or click Choose image.
- Read the decoded text. Use Copy to put it on your clipboard, or Open link if it is a web address you trust.
- Click Stop camera any time to turn the camera off.
Good to know
- This scanner reads QR codes only. It does not read linear barcodes such as UPC, EAN, or Code 128.
- Camera scanning needs a secure (https) page and your permission; image scanning works anywhere.
- Light-on-dark (inverted) QR codes are tried as well as the usual dark-on-light.
- If an image will not decode, try a sharper, straighter photo with the whole code and its white border in frame.

Do I need to install an app?
No. The scanner runs in your web browser on phones, tablets, and computers. It is free and needs no signup.
Are my camera images or photos uploaded?
No. Frames from your camera and images you choose are decoded locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Can it scan barcodes like UPC or EAN?
No. This scanner reads QR codes only.
Why is the camera not working?
Camera access needs an https connection and your permission. If it is blocked or unavailable, upload a photo or screenshot of the code instead.
Will it open links automatically?
No. It shows the decoded content first. An Open link button appears only for http and https links, and you choose whether to use it.
